Saint Sorlin d'Arves


Saint Sorlin d'Arves is the ideal starting point for cycling, hiking and motorbike tours!


In the summer a chairlift runs in the village, which takes you up in a short time, from where fantastic walks begin. There are also beautiful routes mapped out from the village, which will lead you along the most beautiful viewing points. Be sure to visit the cheese farm and the church.


There are also opportunities for mountaineering (towards Glacier Etendard), rockclimbing and paragliding. Horseback riding and dog sledding are also available. Near the village is a proper climbing forest. Fun for all ages. There is also a donkey farm nearby. 


Activities


Saint Sorlin d'Arves is ideal for beautiful trips in nature, by bicycle, by motorbike or on foot. The trail runs next to the chalet and goes towards the Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Glandon. The river Arvan and various hiking trails are located in the vicinity of the chalet. In July and August there are several chairlifts for hikers and mountain bikers (downhill trail) in both Saint Sorlin d'Arves and the adjacent village of Saint Jean d'Arves. Mountain climbing, Via Ferrata, donkey rides, horseback riding and dog sledding are also offered.

Facilities Saint Sorlin d'Arves


Saint Sorlin d'Arves is located at 1.600 meters altitude. The bakery is 150 meters from the chalet. In the village there are several supermarkets, there is a butcher shop and several other stores. There are several great restaurants, some of them are open during pre-summer and the summer months. Practice you bowling skills at the local bowling alley, have a beer in one of the pubs and maybe afterwards show your moves in one of the discos. Close to the house you will find a playground and tennis courts. In summer there are numerous activities for children in the village.

Cycling


Two well-known Alpine cols near the chalet, are the Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Glandon. Another nice trail is that of the Mont Lacets de Montvernier. The Col de Galibier, the Col de la Madeleine and the Alpe d'Huez are also in close proximity. The real cycling fan can start the well-known cyclo tour La Marmotte from the chalet, and let's not forget about cycling in the stunning Maurienne valley. Several (electric) mountainbike trails have been set out around the village of Saint Sorlin d'Arves.
